- A group of 10 to 15 mates get together for a afternoon of cricket at Henderson Park, Wembley.
- A gas plant explodes during the afternoon adding to the Australia Day celebration.
- Paul Miller takes a hat trick.
2000
- The inaugural Justin Langer Cup is played at Henderson Park, Wembley.
- Aaron Bester leads an Interstate team against Darren MacDonald's Western Australians.
- Interstate hit a record 286 runs which still stands 9 years later.
- Todd Breman makes an unbeaten 101 runs for the Interstate team despite being Western Australian.
- Darren MacDonald is taken to hospital with a split head.
- Leigh Turner becomes first player ever to make a duck in JL Cup.
- WA XI Debutantes - D.MacDonald, S.Ham, S.Properjohn, S.Botsis, D.Ham, T.Burton, P.Miller, T.Wehr, S.Chester, J.Howes, Dunn.

2002
- The first match is played on turf at Pat Goodridge Reserve, Wembley.
- WA score their highest score 5/279 which is still the record. Todd Ridley, Travis Burton and Trent Wehr all score 50's for WA.
- WA Debutantes - T.Ridley, S.O'Reilly.
- Interstate Debutantes - D.Clark.
- WA win by 56 runs. Interstate lead series 2-1.
- Man of the Match - Todd Ridley.
2003
- Second match is played on turf at Pat Goodridge Reserve.
- Stephen O'Reilly and Simon Ham tear through Top order of Interstate XI. Tony Godden saves the match from finishing early by slaughtering 86 runs as Interstate bowled out for 163.
- MacDonald and Ridley lead the carnage of Interstate bowlers with fifties as WA cruise to victory with many overs to spare.
- Stephen O'Reilly refuses to bat.
- WA Debutantes - J.Langer, P.Watson.
- Interstate Debutantes - P.Blair.
- WA wins by 74 runs batting second. Series tied 2-2.
- Man of the Match - Tony Godden.
2004
- WA Debutantes - B.Wira.
- Interstate Debutantes - S.Barnes, A.Prescott, D.Benger.
2005
- Matt Angus scores a classic 36 runs (4 sixes) from 14 balls to win the match for the Interstate XI.
- Game Breaker Award introduced to JL Cup for first time by Matt Angus presented by Matt Angus to Matt Angus.
- Leigh Turner failed in his duties for a great lunch and brought along stale buns.
2006
- Travis Burton returned to the WA XI in what is known as the Super-Sub debacle causing great debate and threats of forfeit and retirements.
- Justin Langer played a majestic cameo for the interstate team when Jay Burton did hs dodgy knee.

THE RULES OF THE JUSTIN LANGER CUP
In addition to standard cricket rules, the following applies...
1. 40 overs per side.
2. Maximum of 7 overs per bowler.
3. You can't get out first ball. This was introduced to stop Craney from whinging, Leighthal from retiring and to give Vajsy a chance.
4. Retire at 50 runs. You must retire at the end of the over in which you make your fiftieth run. You may return at the end of the innings if all batsmen have batted.
5. Last man's tucker. You can bat by yourself if you are the last remaining batsman. (The Todd Breman Rule)
